Visitor Information

Do you operate in the rain?

Yes. We operate in rain and only stop if conditions become unsafe.

Who decides whether conditions are unsafe?

Scudamore's makes the final decision on whether conditions are safe to operate. This may depend on wind, river flow, temperature or other conditions on the day.

What happens if Scudamore's cancels because of dangerous conditions?

If we need to cancel your booking due to dangerous conditions, we will advise you of the available options. These may include rescheduling or a refund, depending on the product and booking terms.

Are life jackets available?

Safety equipment is available where required. If you have specific safety concerns, please speak to a member of staff before boarding.

Can I bring food or drink?

We offer drinks packages to enhance your experience on the river, but you are also welcome to bring your own food and drink on tours or self-hire bookings.

Do you have wheelchair access?

Scudamore's has wheelchair access at the Mill Lane punt station. Please contact us before booking so we can discuss your requirements and advise on the best option.

Can you help visitors with limited mobility?

We will do our best to help. Boarding a punt involves getting on and off a boat, so we recommend contacting us in advance to discuss your needs.

Can carers or support workers attend?

Yes. Carers and support workers are welcome. Please contact us before booking if you need help choosing the most suitable product.

Is there step-free access?

Access varies by location and product. Please contact us before travelling so we can advise based on your booking and needs.

Are children allowed?

Yes. Children are welcome, but under-16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Do babies count as passengers?

Yes. Babies and toddlers count towards the passenger capacity of the boat.

Can I bring a pushchair?

Space on board is limited. If you are bringing a pushchair, please contact us before your visit so we can advise on the best option.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are welcome on many Scudamore's experiences. Please check the product details before booking or contact the Bookings Team if you are unsure.

Is punting suitable for nervous visitors?

A chauffeured tour is usually the most comfortable option for nervous visitors, as you can remain seated while your chauffeur handles the punt.
