Booking Terms & Conditions
Please ensure that you have read these Terms & Conditions before making a booking, E-booking or E-reservation (referred to collectively in these Terms & Conditions as "bookings"). Click here to see our E-Ticket Terms & Conditions. Please contact us if you have any queries.
Method We accept bookings online, by email, by phone, by fax and by post.
Availability All bookings are subject to availability.
Booking Rates All rates quoted on this website include VAT charged at the current rate, where applicable.
Disability Access Despite the constraints of our historic riverside locations, we are committed to ensuring that the widest range of people can access our punt stations and enjoy the river. Please contact us for further information and to discuss your specific requirements.
Chauffeur Uniform Scudamore's standard low season chauffeur uniform comprises of a dark blue rain-jacket, light grey sweatshirt, light grey polo shirt, dark blue trousers and an optional dark blue cap. The rain-jacket, sweatshirt, polo shirt and cap all carry an embroidered oval Scudamore's logo. In this context "low season" means October to March.
Scudamore's standard high season chauffeur uniform comprises of a formal white shirt, blue waistcoat and optional boater. The waistcoat carries an embroidered oval Scudamore's logo. In this context "high season" means April to September.
Please note: during the high season, in the event of adverse conditions, we reserve the right to permit our staff to revert to more practical apparel. Adverse conditions include hot periods, when the wearing of a boater and / or waistcoat may be considered deleterious to the health of our staff, and cold, wet and / or windy periods when the wearing of a boater and / or waistcoat may be considered impractical and / or detrimental to the well-being of our staff; this list is not exhaustive and our decision is final as to what constitutes adverse conditions. Please note further that a decision as to what constitutes appropriate apparel may be taken on the basis of forecast and / or reasonably expected conditions.
Product Withdrawal We reserve the right to withdraw booking products at any time without prior notice. Should we do so, holders of unredeemed bookings of withdrawn products will be offered the option of taking an alternative booking product of the same or greater value or of receiving a refund of the full value of the withdrawn product.
Making 48 hours. Phone or email bookings may sometimes be accepted at less notice, but may be subject to surcharges.
Altering 48 hours prior to the booking.
Cancelling Punting: 48 hours prior to the booking for a refund of any monies paid minus £50.00. We cannot offer refunds after this time, except in the case of bad weather or dangerous conditions (see below).
Food & drink: 48 hours prior to the booking for a full refund. We cannot offer refunds after this time.
Online booking We require full payment online to confirm a booking. At the payment page you can choose to pay in USD ($) or EUR (€) instead of the default GBP (£); for further information please click here.
Other booking methods Total value less than £300.00: we require full payment to confirm a booking.
Total value more than £300.00: we require a deposit of 50% of the total value, with the balance payable two weeks before the booking.
We only accept payment in GBP (£) for non-online bookings.
Invoicing Only available to Credit Account Customers.
Payment method We accept most major cards, except Diners Club. Cheques to be made out to "Scudamore's Punting Company Ltd".
Self-hire punts only, except treasure hunt Upon collection of your craft we require a damages deposit of a credit card imprint. This deposit is refundable upon the safe return of the craft and the payment of any outstanding balance.
Late arrival We can only guarantee punts for 15 minutes beyond the agreed time. Late arrival may lead to a further delay or a reduced timing. If you are going to be delayed, please notify us as soon as possible, so that we can try to reschedule your booking.
Non-appearance Any group failing to show up without giving prior notice will be deemed to have had their booking and will not be eligible for a refund. Credit Account Customers will be invoiced for the full value of the booking.
Bad weather causing you to cancel Punting: we will refund any monies paid minus £50.00.
Food & drink: we cannot refund food and drink orders.
Note: our decision is final as to what constitutes bad weather.
Dangerous conditions forcing us to cancel Punting: we will refund any monies paid minus £50.00.

Note: our decision is final as to what constitutes dangerous conditions, such as flooding or high winds.
All options Refunds are at the discretion of the Scudamore's management.
