You are invited to a board meeting with a difference this summer, as
Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is coming to the Cam courtesy of
Scudamore's and Fen Paddle.
SUP is an exciting new water activity whose roots lie in traditional
Hawaiian paddle-surfing (Ku Hoe He'e Nalu). Fortunately, SUP requires
no waves and is much easier to learn than surfing; it simply involves
standing on a long super-stable board and propelling yourself using a
long-bladed paddle. What could be simpler?
On Monday afternoons and all day on Fridays over the school holidays
we are offering you the chance to experience this gentle, yet
invigorating, activity for yourselves, with tutored guided trips on
the Top River. As well as nurturing
core strength and general fitness it is great fun, and suitable for
people of all ages. No prior experience is necessary, as you will
receive full instruction.
There are 4 tour departure times on Mondays and 8 departure times on
Fridays. Tours last 50 minutes and depart from our
Mill Lane Boatyard. Public tour
tickets are available on the day, or in advance by phone (Bookings
Office: 01223 359750). Advance purchase is strongly recommended as
these tours are anticipated to be popular and the maximum tour group
size is restricted to 4 persons.
We are also offering brief free "taster" sessions on Monday evenings
between 18:30 and 20:00, so why not come and see us to unwind on the
water after a hard day at work?
