Now in its 29th year, the
Cambridge Film
Festival has always been keen on taking cinema into the great
outdoors. We are proud to be part of the 2009 Festival's unique
Riverside Screenings.
On four evenings before and during the Festival there is the
opportunity to experience two great local traditions together:
watching an innovative film programme presented by the Film Festival
and enjoying a champagne punt tour.
On these evenings four riverside locations near Grantchester will
become open-air film theatres equipped with outdoor screens; the
chauffeured punts will act as floating auditoria, ferrying audiences
from screen to screen to watch the film programme from the water.
The check-in point will be at the Red Lion pub in Grantchester from
19:30 onwards. Once checked in, audience groups will be led down to
the Meadows to board the punts which will be departing at 15 minute
intervals between 20:00 and 21:00. The post-programme disembarkation
point* is at the Newnham end of the Meadows, a 15 minute walk from the
Red Lion car park and a 3 minute walk from the Newnham car park.

* Please note that customers can also choose to start and/or finish
the evening at our Main Boatyard in Mill Lane, as chauffeured punts
are available to get to and from Grantchester. See price details
below.
